A Florida man pardoned by Trump for the Capitol riot faces new gun charges
He was already in pretrial detention in Washington for his actions during the Capitol riot when a judge tossed out his charges. But he still had an outstanding warrant back in Florida, so he wasn’t going anywhere.
On that infamous day, Ball allegedly broke a window at the Capitol and even threw an explosive device at the cops. He was one of over 1,500 folks charged for their roles in the riot, and Trump pardoned a bunch of them, calling them “patriots.”
But now, it looks like Ball’s got more trouble. Federal agents found guns and ammo when they searched his place related to the Jan. 6 case. His lawyer claims he’s going to fight these new charges, saying they’re tied to the pardon.
It’s a wild situation, and it raises some serious questions about how far those pardons really go. What a mess!
