Scioto County: So, there was this audit for the November election in Ohio, and it turns out Scioto County had a voter turnout that was a bit lower than the state average.

The audit showed that the county boards of elections nailed it with a 100 percent accuracy rate during the presidential election, according to the Secretary of State.

Frank LaRose, the Ohio Secretary of State, emphasized how important it is for Ohioans to feel that their elections are clear and fair. He was pretty proud to announce a 99.9 percent audit accuracy rate, giving a shoutout to the hard work of the bipartisan election officials.

Ohio had over 8 million registered voters, and about 71.7 percent of them cast their ballots in the general election. That’s over 5.8 million votes counted across the state.

In Scioto County, there are around 45,434 registered voters. On November 5, about 31,496 of them voted, which is a turnout of 69.3 percent. That’s actually better than the mid-term election, where only 47 percent showed up. Back in 2020, during the last presidential election, the turnout was about 70 percent.

LaRose reminded everyone that with important local races coming up in 2025, every vote really does matter. He reassured voters that they’re committed to making it easy to vote and tough to cheat.
