Symbolic.ai Partners with Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp to Enhance AI Journalism
Symbolic.ai has inked a deal with News Corp to improve AI-driven journalism and efficiency in newsrooms worldwide
New York: A startup called Symbolic.ai has made a big deal with News Corp, owned by Rupert Murdoch. Many newsrooms have tried using AI, but most of those ideas are still experiments. Symbolic.ai wants to change that and be a leader in this area.
News Corp includes big names like the New York Post and The Wall Street Journal. They plan to use Symbolic’s AI on their financial news service called Dow Jones Newswires. This will help speed up how they work and make news production easier.
Symbolic.ai was created by Devin Wenig, a former eBay CEO, and Jon Stokes, a co-founder of Ars Technica. They claim their AI can help journalists do better work and even save time, up to 90% for researching complicated topics. Their tool will help with creating newsletters, transcribing audio, checking facts, improving headlines, and giving SEO tips.
Overall, News Corp seems eager to use AI in their news business. In 2024, they made a deal with OpenAI to share their material with them. Last November, they also mentioned they might share information with other AI companies.
