Las Vegas: Amazon recently shared exciting news about its AI platform at the Consumer Electronics Show. They said 97% of the devices they have sold can run Alexa+, their advanced AI assistant. More than 600 million devices have been delivered, making it likely that most will support this new feature.

Alexa+ was introduced last year, enhancing how Alexa works. This new AI can speak more expressively, answer questions, and even help with tasks, like ordering food or hailing an Uber. Last June, over 1 million users started using Alexa+, and now many more can choose to join.

Amazon has not announced when Alexa+ will be available for everyone. They are first focusing on Prime members. However, they need to show that people will actually use this new AI. Daniel Rausch from Amazon believes that customers’ familiarity with Alexa will help them.

Rausch thinks there will be many different AIs for users. While some AIs will focus on specific tasks, he sees Alexa as an important option. He notes that many people already use Alexa, which makes it a great tool for homes.

As Alexa prepares for its future, competition is increasing. Apple is working with Google on Siri, and other chatbots are vying for users’ attention in various fields like research and healthcare.

Before CES, Amazon launched ways to use Alexa online. They also redesigned the app to make it more user-friendly. Partners like Samsung and BMW showed how they connect with Alexa.

Amazon has also acquired Bee, an AI tool that records conversations and offers helpful insights. Rausch mentions that Alexa and Bee will work closely together in the future, but Bee will still have its own unique identity.
