Los Angeles: AMD Chair and CEO Lisa Su kicked off her keynote at CES 2026 by telling everyone about exciting new things AI can do. She announced new AI processors because AMD believes AI-powered personal computers are the future.

At the annual CES conference on Monday, AMD revealed their Ryzen AI 400 Series processor. This new chip is 1.3 times faster at multitasking than other processors and 1.7 times faster for creating content. The new chips have 12 CPU Cores, which are parts of the main processor, and 24 threads, which help the processor handle many tasks at once.

This update follows the Ryzen AI 300 Series, which AMD announced in 2024. AMD began creating the Ryzen processor series in 2017. Senior vice president Rahul Tikoo shared that AMD now has over 250 AI PC platforms. This means they have doubled in one year.

“In the years ahead, AI is going to be part of everything in personal computing,” Tikoo said. He believes AMD’s AI PCs will change how people work, play, create, and connect with one another.

AMD also announced the new Ryzen 7 9850X3D, which is their latest gaming processor. Tikoo added that everyone uses technology daily, and AI is changing how PCs understand and personalize tasks.

The PCs with Ryzen AI 300 Series or Ryzen 7 9850X3D processors will be available in the first part of 2026. AMD also shared their new Redstone ray tracing technology to improve video game graphics without slowing down performance.
