Another deep tech chip startup becomes a unicorn Frore hits 164B
Frore Systems raises 143M at 164 billion valuation to develop liquid cooling tech for AI chips and electronic devices.
San Francisco: Frore Systems has raised 143 million dollars in new funding. This brings the company’s total value to 1.64 billion dollars. The company now has 340 million dollars in total funding.
The company makes cooling systems for computer chips. They do not make the chips themselves. Frore’s technology helps keep chips cool without using fans. This is important for phones and small devices.
The company started when two engineers left Qualcomm. They first made cooling for phones and small electronics. Two years ago they met Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang. He told them to make cooling for AI chips.
Now Frore makes products that work with Nvidia chips. They also work with Qualcomm and AMD chips. Many companies want to invest in AI chip technology. Frore joins other new companies worth over one billion dollars.
New investors in this round include Fidelity and Mayfield. Qualcomm Ventures also invested in the company. These investors believe AI chip cooling will be important for the future.
