Anthropic Aims to Raise $10 Billion at $350 Billion Valuation Soon
Anthropic is set to raise $10 billion, nearly doubling its valuation to $350 billion, following a recent Series F funding round.
Anthropic is the creator of Claude, a tool that helps with coding. Just three months ago, it raised $13 billion at a $183 billion valuation. The new funding nearly doubles the company’s worth. In March, it also secured $3.5 billion at a $61.5 billion valuation.
Coatue Management and GIC, the wealth fund from Singapore, will lead this latest round. The total amount could change by the closing date, which is expected in a few weeks.
This new funding round is different from the $15 billion that Nvidia and Microsoft want to invest. Anthropic will use this money to buy $30 billion in computing power from Microsoft Azure with Nvidia’s chips.
This new capital will help Anthropic grow as it prepares for a possible IPO this year. Its main rival, OpenAI, is also planning to raise up to $100 billion at a $750 billion valuation.
TechCrunch has asked Anthropic for more information.
