Apple Unveils New MacBook Air and MacBook Pro with M5
Apple announced new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models with M5 chips, offering faster AI processing and improved performance.
San Francisco: Apple announced its new slate of laptops on Tuesday morning, including new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models that use Apple’s M5 chips.
The company says these updated M5 chips are better at handling AI tasks. Both the new Air and Pro laptops can handle AI tasks up to 4x faster than their previous versions.
MacBook Air Features
The MacBook Air now gets 18 hours of battery life – that’s 6 hours more than before. It has a 12MP camera for video calls, three microphones, and speakers that play special sound effects.
Users can choose between 13-inch (starting at $1,099) and 15-inch (starting at $1,299) sizes. The laptops come in blue, dark blue, light blue, and silver colors.
MacBook Pro Improvements
The MacBook Pro is made for people who need more power. The M5 Pro and M5 Max chips are up to 4x faster at handling AI tasks than previous models.
These laptops start at 1TB or 2TB of storage space and can last up to 24 hours on one charge. They come in silver or black and start at $2,199 for the smaller size.
All these laptops can be ordered starting Tuesday, March 4, and will arrive on March 11.
