Clicks Launches Communicator Smartphone Inspired by BlackBerry Plus New Keyboard
Clicks Technology introduces the Communicator smartphone and a $79 slide-out keyboard aimed at productivity.
The Communicator costs $499 and is made for users who carry two phones—one for work and another for personal use. It focuses on messaging, emailing, and document work where a physical keyboard is helpful. The phone does not include social media apps or games. Instead, it offers messaging apps and productivity tools through a partnership with Niagara Launcher.
A cool feature of the phone is the Signal Light. This is a button on the side that lights up in different colors and patterns based on which messages you get. For example, important messages can glow purple, while WhatsApp messages can be green. You can also use this button to send voice messages or take quick notes.
The Communicator has an ergonomic keyboard that helps with fast typing and allows users to scroll through messages without a touchscreen. The phone includes features like a headphone jack, a physical SIM card tray, and expandable microSD storage of up to 2TB.
Its back cover can be changed for a new look, with color options being Smoke, Clover (dark green), or Onyx. Early bird customers can get the phone for $399 with a $199 deposit before February 27. The device will ship later this year.
Here are some specs of the phone:
– Android 16 with 5 years of updates
– 131.5 mm tall and weighs 170 grams
– 5G, 4G LTE, and 3G/2G support
– 4,000 mAh battery
– 256GB storage
– 50MP main camera and 24MP front camera
Clicks CEO Adrian Li said the company’s previous keyboards had sold over 100,000 units globally, showing that customers want products that help them communicate better.
Clicks is also introducing a slide-out keyboard. It attaches to smartphones, tablets, or even smart TVs to make typing easier. It runs on a battery and has multiple positioning options. The Power Keyboard is $79 now and will retail for $109 later. Pre-orders start on January 2, and it ships in spring.
