Minneapolis: In court, FBI agent Bernardo Medellin contradicted ICE agent Jonathan Ross. Ross claimed a detained man wanted a lawyer. Medellin, who heard their talks, said he never heard the man request an attorney.

Ross was involved in a case where a man named Roberto Carlos Muñoz-Guatemala was chased. Ross testified he told Muñoz-Guatemala he was law enforcement. Ross also said Muñoz-Guatemala attacked him with a car.

During questioning, Ross mentioned that Muñoz-Guatemala replied in English, saying he wanted a lawyer. But this detail surprised others in court, as it was not mentioned before.

Medellin confirmed he had not heard any request for a lawyer from Muñoz-Guatemala. The discussion raised questions about the trustworthiness of Ross’s statements in court.
