Fujifilm X-E5 Camera Review Highlights Compact Design and Color Features

Discover the Fujifilm X-E5’s impressive features like in-body stabilization and a sturdy build, perfect for capturing life’s moments.

City: The Fujifilm X-E5 mirrors today’s needs with its compact design. It has in-body image stabilization (IBIS), which helps with shaky hands. This keeps your photos sharp, even when you’re having fun with kids during Christmas. Fujifilm claims this camera has seven stops of IBIS. I tested this claim and found it to be true!

Another great feature is the build quality. This new model feels much better than the X-E4. The top plate is a single piece of aluminum, making it more solid. When I add a pancake lens like the 23mm f/2.8, it feels very high-end, just like the X100 series, which was not true for the last model.

I also love a neat trick borrowed from the X100. The X-E5 has a fake self-timer switch on the front. This switch has five control points, which you can customize. Sadly, there is no ISO dial. To fix this, I set up the self-timer switch as a shortcut for ISO. This makes it easier to reach.

The X-E5 also brings back twin command dials for quick settings. These were missing in the last version. Plus, there’s an AF Mode switch, making it easy to switch between different focus modes without going deep into the menu.

Finally, there’s a new film simulation dial. While this can be fun, not having an actual ISO dial is a big mistake. It’s a little embarrassing because switching film styles is not as important as changing ISO settings often. A dial for ISO would have made more sense!
