Las Vegas: Google believes AI can make watching TV better. In November, it added its Gemini AI to Google TV devices. At CES 2026, the company showed new Gemini features that will help you explore topics, search your photos, and control your TV just by talking. You won’t need to struggle with confusing menus anymore.

These new features will first be available on some TCL TVs and later on more Google TV devices. Gemini is designed for big screens and lets you talk to your TV. For example, you can ask for something to watch or get a recap of your favorite show. You can even ask what the newest hospital drama is.

Gemini will answer with a blend of text, images, and videos. It can provide real-time sports updates too. But Google sees more than just entertainment; Gemini can help you learn. At CES, Google showed how the TV can give deep dives into topics. You can ask questions and get simple, narrated overviews.

You can also search your Google Photos for specific people or moments. Plus, Gemini can change your photos into artistic slideshows. The best part is you can adjust settings with your voice. Just say, “the screen is too dim,” and Gemini will fix it without making you pause your show.

The new features need Google TV devices to run Android TV OS 14 or higher. You also need an internet connection and a Google account to use Gemini for TV.
