Google’s Personal Intelligence Feature Expands to All US Users
Google is rolling out its Personal Intelligence feature to all US users for free, allowing AI to connect across Gmail and Google Photos for smarter responses.
Personal Intelligence used to cost money, but now it is free for everyone in the U.S. It works in AI Mode search, the Gemini app, and Chrome. When you use it, the AI can look at your emails and photos to help answer questions about things you have bought or places you have visited.
The feature is off by default because Google wants users to choose if they want to share their information. For example, if you need tire size for your car, any chatbot can help. But with Personal Intelligence, Gemini can also suggest new tires by looking at your family vacation photos.
Planning a trip becomes easier too. If you search for fun things to do, AI Mode can use your hotel booking emails and travel photos to suggest a vacation plan that your whole family will like. It might even find an ice cream shop you would enjoy based on photos of ice cream in your library.
You can also shop more easily. If you bought new gold shoes and need a matching purse, Personal Intelligence in Chrome can show purses that match your style and recent purchases. The AI looks for small details like purse hardware that goes with your new shoes.
Google says Gemini does not read all your emails or photo library. It only uses information when you ask specific questions. Personal Intelligence is available today in AI Mode search and is coming soon to the Gemini app and Chrome for free users in the U.S. This feature works only with personal Google accounts, not work or school accounts.
