San Francisco: Google updated its Veo 3.1 AI video tool on Tuesday. This update helps users create vertical videos for social media. You can use reference images to make videos without losing any content. The videos will now show more exciting movements and expressions.

When you make videos for YouTube Shorts or TikTok, you can select the 9:16 vertical format. This way, there’s no cropping needed. Google is adding this cool feature to YouTube Shorts and the YouTube Create app, making it easy to use.

Veo 3.1 first came out in October 2025. It improved the audio quality and made editing easier. Now, it gives better video quality too! With the new update, even short prompts can result in great videos. Google says characters and backgrounds will look consistent and blend well together.

You can find these features in the Gemini app. If you are a pro user, you can use Google’s video editor, Flow, and other tools. Additionally, the update boosts video quality to 1080p and 4K resolutions. This upgrade is accessible through Flow and other Google services.
