City: Las Vegas: Intel is working hard on gaming hardware with a new chip for handheld gaming devices. This new platform will have both hardware and software features. Daniel Rogers, Intel’s vice president, announced this exciting news at CES on Monday. The platform is based on Intel Core Series 3 processors, called Panther Lake, which were introduced last year and are being used in many PCs now.

This new platform will include a chip specifically designed for handheld gaming. Two different sources, IGN and TechCrunch, have confirmed this information. Also, these Panther Lake chips are made using Intel’s new 18A manufacturing process, which started making chips in 2025.

Intel is experienced in the gaming world. The company has made chips for gaming PCs since the 1990s. Last year, Intel focused more on gaming by launching its Intel Arc GPUs. Getting into the handheld gaming market is exciting, but AMD currently leads this area. AMD just revealed a new gaming processor, the AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D, during its CES keynote, along with new graphics features for gaming.

Rogers mentioned that Intel will share more details about its products related to handheld gaming later this year. You can keep up with TechCrunch’s coverage of the CES conference for updates.
