Jeffrey Epstein’s Ties to CBP Agents Sparked a DOJ Probe

Emails and records show Epstein socialized with CBP officers in the US Virgin Islands, raising ethics concerns during a federal investigation.

Virgin Islands: A man named Jeffrey Epstein had connections with some border officers in the US Virgin Islands. The Department of Justice looked into these connections for over a year.

Epstein gave the officers gifts and invited them to his island. He would also tell them when he felt other border officers were treating him badly. The border officers were never charged with crimes, and one even retired with a pension.

The records show that Epstein tried to be friendly with these officers. He had them over to his island and gave them gifts. Some officers called him a friend.

Epstein also traveled on his private plane with different people. Sometimes he had young women or people with foreign passports. When border officers asked questions, Epstein would argue with them. He told his pilot to collect officers’ contact information so he could stay in touch.
