Memories AI partners with Nvidia to develop visual memory technology for AI-powered wearables

San Francisco: Shawn Shen and his company Memories AI are building something new for the future.

They want AI to remember what it sees in the real world, not just text. Shen and his team are using tools from Nvidia to make wearables and robots remember visual memories like humans do.

This idea started when Shen was working on AI glasses for Meta. He realized people needed to recall what they recorded with their smart glasses. When Shen and his co-founder Ben Zhou looked for this kind of memory solution, they couldn’t find any, so they started their own company.

Memories AI launched in 2024 and has raised $16 million from investors. They created their own video recording device called LUCI to collect training data.

The company released its second visual memory model and partnered with Qualcomm to run on their chips. While some wearable companies are already interested, Shen believes the biggest opportunities are still ahead.
