Hupo, once a mental wellness platform, now excels in AI sales coaching, helping firms adapt and grow in finance and insurance

San Francisco: Hupo started as Ami, a platform for mental wellness. Now, it’s focused on AI-powered sales coaching for banks and insurance companies. Justin Kim, the CEO, created Hupo to help people improve their performance. He noticed the importance of mental resilience, which drove him to change the business in 2022.

With support from Meta, Hupo learned critical lessons about making software fit into daily work. Now, its AI tools assist in real-time coaching during important conversations. This method helps teams in banking and financial services without replacing human judgment. Kim explained that improving performance isn’t always about motivation; training and confidence matter too.

Hupo recently raised $10 million to expand its reach. It now serves many clients, like Prudential and HSBC, across Asia and Europe. Kim pointed out that in just six months, contracts often grow three to eight times. Hupo aims to enter the U.S. market soon, meeting the strong need for effective coaching in finance.

Kim has a background in selling software to banks and fintech. He realized that Hupo’s AI model must be based on the real-world practices of banks and insurers. The latest funding helps Hupo enhance its tools and grow its team. In five years, Kim hopes Hupo will broaden its focus to help large teams perform better on a bigger scale.
