Meta Slows Down International Launch of Ray-Ban Display Glasses Amid High Demand
Meta is pausing the international sale of Ray-Ban Display glasses due to high demand and limited supply, focusing on U.S. orders first.
The company mentioned that since launching last fall, many people have shown a strong interest in the glasses. This demand has led to long waitlists that go well into 2026. Due to this situation, Meta decided to pause its plans to expand internationally.
Right now, Meta will keep working on fulfilling orders in the U.S. while thinking about how to handle sales in other countries later. The Meta Ray-Ban Display smart glasses were shown to the public in September. They work with a wristband called the Meta Neural Band, which senses small hand movements.
At the CES event in Las Vegas, Meta displayed new features for the glasses and the Neural Band. One new feature lets users see a teleprompter, helping them read prepared notes easily. Users can also write messages with their finger on any surface while wearing the Neural Band and have those written movements turned into digital messages.
Additionally, Meta is working on pedestrian navigation in cities like Denver, Las Vegas, Portland, and Salt Lake City.
