San Francisco: OpenAI is reportedly asking contractors to upload real work from past jobs. The company and Handshake AI want third-party contractors to share examples of work they have done before. This plan seems to be part of a strategy by AI companies to collect high-quality data. The goal is to help models automate more office jobs.

According to a presentation, OpenAI wants contractors to describe their tasks and provide actual files they worked on. These files can be in formats like Word, PDF, PowerPoint, Excel, images, or code repositories. The company tells contractors to remove any private information before sharing and suggests using a tool called ChatGPT “Superstar Scrubbing” for this.

However, lawyer Evan Brown warned that asking contractors to share this information carries risks. He believes it involves a lot of trust, which might lead to problems if confidential information is mishandled. An OpenAI spokesperson did not comment on this matter.
