OpenAI Launches ChatGPT Health as 230 Million Users Seek Health Advice Weekly
OpenAI introduces ChatGPT Health for users to discuss health topics privately and securely.
If someone starts talking about health outside of this special section, ChatGPT will suggest they switch over. In ChatGPT Health, the AI might remember things you’ve shared before. For example, if you ask about a running plan, it will link that to your fitness goals.
ChatGPT Health can also connect to health apps like Apple Health and MyFitnessPal for more personalized help. However, OpenAI promises that health conversations won’t be used to train its AI models.
Fidji Simo, CEO of Applications at OpenAI, mentioned that ChatGPT Health aims to address issues in healthcare, such as high costs and long wait times. While using AI can help, it also comes with risks. ChatGPT doesn’t always provide correct answers because it predicts responses rather than knowing facts.
In its guidelines, OpenAI states that ChatGPT is not meant for making health diagnoses or treatments. The new feature will be available in the coming weeks.
