Las Vegas: Hardware maker Plaud just launched a new AI notetaker called Plaud NotePin S. They also released a desktop app to help you take notes during digital meetings. This launch happened right before this year’s Consumer Electronics Show, or CES.

The new pin-styled notetaker has a physical button. You can use this button to start and stop recording. You can also tap it to highlight important points, just like on the newer Plaud Note Pro. This device costs $179 and comes with a clip, lanyard, magnetic pin, and wristband. That way, you can wear it however you want. Plaud also added Apple Find My support. This feature helps you find your device if you misplace it.

The Plaud NotePin S has 64GB of storage and can record for 20 hours straight. It has two small microphones that capture clear audio from nearly 10 feet away. Users get 300 minutes of free transcription each month. Compared to the Note Pro, this device has a shorter recording range and less battery life. But it is smaller and easier to carry with the included accessories. The company created this pin for people who are always on the go.

This is Plaud’s fourth device, and they have sold over 1.5 million units so far. Their devices mostly focus on in-person meetings, but now Plaud wants to compete with other meeting notetakers like Granola and Fireflies. Their new desktop app works with various meeting programs. It can see when a meeting is happening and will suggest capturing the transcript.

The Mac app takes audio from your computer to write notes during meetings. It uses AI to turn spoken words into written notes. Last year, Plaud allowed users to add images and typed notes along with audio transcription in their app. Now they are bringing this helpful feature to their desktop app as well.
