The dating app Score is back with a new inclusive model that lets everyone join

New York: Two years ago, Luke Bailey made a dating app called Score for people with good credit scores. The app needed users to have at least a 675 credit score to join.

Bailey created Score to help people talk about money with their partners. He said 54 percent of people think a partner’s debt can lead to divorce. The app was popular but some people said it was unfair because it focused on those who handle money well.

The app stayed open for six months instead of the planned 90 days. It got 50,000 users and made news around the world. Now Bailey is bringing Score back with changes to make it more open to everyone.

This time Score will be in the iOS App Store and have two levels. The basic level lets anyone join and browse matches. The verified level needs users to prove their identity and credit score to get extra features.

The app uses Equifax to check credit scores without hurting users’ credit. It only checks if someone meets the requirements. The verified plan lets users see nearby members, know who saved their profile, and send video messages.

Bailey still believes credit scores show consistency in how people handle money. He says banks look for the same qualities in customers that people want in partners. The app stores no sensitive data and uses encryption to keep information safe.
