City: New York: Spotify raised the price of its monthly subscription plan in the U.S. This is the third price increase in just three years. The monthly fee went up from $11.99 to $12.99.

The company sent an email to its paid users about the new price. This change takes effect during the next billing cycle. Spotify explained that updated prices help them give users a better experience and allow them to support artists.

In a report, it was mentioned that Spotify plans to raise prices again in early 2026. Analysts think this change could help Spotify earn an extra $500 million.

Last year, Spotify also increased prices in places like the U.K. and Switzerland. The first price hike in the U.S. happened in 2023 when the price went from $9.99 to $10.99. In June 2024, they raised it again by $1.

Spotify has more than 281 million paid users worldwide. About 25% of them are from North America. Besides the U.S., prices are also increasing in Estonia and Latvia.
