Uber Unveils New Robotaxi with Lucid and Nuro at CES 2026
Uber, Lucid Motors, and Nuro have teamed up to launch an advanced robotaxi aimed at San Francisco, showcasing its innovative tech.
The robotaxi is equipped with high-resolution cameras, lidar sensors, and radars. It uses Nvidia’s Drive AGX Thor computer to operate all its technology. The car has special LED lights to help people find it easily, just like Waymo’s taxis. The companies save time by adding this tech at the factory in Arizona, instead of modifying cars later.
At CES, they also showed a user-friendly interface for riders. There is a small screen outside the car to greet passengers. Inside, passengers can see maps of where the car is going, nearby cars, and pedestrians. This system is similar to what Waymo offers. The screens also show how long the ride will take and allow users to control music and climate features.
Uber designed the robotaxi to give a comfortable ride with lots of space, especially in the two-row setup. While Lucid faced problems with some of its cars last year, they have improved and even set new sales records. The companies plan to start mass production of these robotaxis after completing the final testing this year.
