It feels like the end of the world as we knew it for 80 years. This change is due to reasons that future historians will find hard to explain. The only strategy seems to come from the president’s ego and desire for respect from the elite.

Trump’s actions highlight how the U.S. institutions have failed to limit his power. The Republican Congress, instead of standing strong, has acted cowardly. They haven’t protected the powers granted by the Constitution but instead follow the president as party members.

Leaders like Putin and Xi must feel lucky. At Davos, China is trying to step in and help after America’s decline. Putin, who has faced many losses in Ukraine, is benefiting now. He has repeatedly claimed that the “democratic West” is corrupt, and Donald Trump is giving him lots of proof.

During Trump’s first term, some thought he might be working with Russia. Now, we see it’s worse; he is doing this willingly as president.
