Cupertino: Apple just released new AirPods Max 2 headphones. These cost $549, which is the same as before. You can order them starting March 25, and they will ship in April.

The new headphones use Apple’s H2 chip. This gives better noise canceling – 1.5 times stronger than before. The H2 also helps make clearer sound and improved 3D audio. You can use features like Voice Isolation (helps people hear you better on calls) and Live Translation (turns speech into different languages).

The outside of the headphones looks almost the same as before. They still have a metal body that weighs a bit much when wearing for long time. The earpads cover still looks the same, though haven’t more travel protection. Other companies like Sony and Bose have made bigger changes to their headphones recently.

The new AirPods Max 2 work with lossless audio when connected with wire to certain Apple devices. The improvement comes mostly from the H2 chip that Apple’s been using since 2022. Apple chose to announce these quietly after showing other new products, which makes them seem less exciting than they might be.
