Beijing: A Chinese vacuum company spun off two new electric vehicle brands, Nebula Next and Kosmera. They showed off their sleek cars at CES. These brands say they are independent, but they have ties to Dreame, a robot vacuum maker. This move isn’t weird since many Chinese tech firms are moving into cars because they have the skills. For instance, Roborock and Xiaomi are also making electric vehicles.

Lei Xing, a car market expert, says it is easier for companies in China to start making cars because of the supply chain and engineering talent. However, not all companies will succeed. Some may fail like Apple’s long car project.

Neolix is another company making autonomous delivery vans. They have over 10,000 vans on the streets of China and want to expand to other countries, including the US. Despite challenges, they plan to work with local partners to enter different markets.

At CES, I also met with AI video companies competing with OpenAI’s Sora 2. Kling, part of the popular platform Kuaishou, allows users to create fun videos using AI. They have millions of users and offer exciting new ways to enjoy video content.
