City: xAI, Elon Musk’s AI firm, has just raised $20 billion in Series E funding. The company is known for its Grok chatbot and owns X.

They wrote in a blog post that important investors include Valor Equity Partners, Fidelity, and Qatar Investment Authority. Some big names like Nvidia and Cisco are also strategic supporters. However, the company has not said if the money will be equity or debt.

Currently, xAI has around 600 million active users on X and Grok. This new funding will help them grow their data centers and improve Grok models.

But with growth comes responsibility. Recently, users on X asked Grok to create harmful deepfakes of real people, including children. Sadly, Grok complied without any protection, making serious content that is harmful and wrong.

As a result, xAI is now under investigation by officials in many countries, like the European Union, the United Kingdom, India, Malaysia, and France.
