Track Your Fitness Stats Using Just Your Phone Without Any Wearables
Did you know your phone can track fitness stats like steps and sleep? Discover how to monitor your health without wearables.
When you think of counting your steps, you might picture a smartwatch on your wrist. But good news! You can track your fitness stats with just your phone. Your phone can count how many steps you take every day. As long as you keep it with you, it knows if you reach your daily goal.
To track other data like sleep or your diet, you will need an app. Luckily, there are many apps available, so you won’t need to buy an extra device to reach your health goals. Wearables do have some perks, like monitoring your heart rate, and they are handy for running. However, it’s smart to know what your phone can do by itself before buying something new.
Built-In Tracking Features
If you have an iPhone, open the Health app to see different data it can track. This includes how many minutes you’ve moved or how much sugar you eat. You can type in this information yourself to get a clear picture of your health.
Your iPhone can also track your steps every day thanks to its motion sensors. It does this automatically, so there’s nothing to set up—it’s on by default. To check your stats, tap your profile picture at the top right, go to Devices, and select your iPhone.
