Louisville residents should prepare for cold temperatures and snow starting Sunday, with advisories in place for the area
Louisville: The National Weather Service is sounding the alarm for cold weather. They’ve put out several advisories for folks in and around the city.
A Winter Weather Advisory kicks in Sunday from 1 a.m. to 7 p.m., followed by a Cold Weather Advisory from 7 p.m. Sunday until 1 p.m. Monday.
Central Kentucky might see up to 2 inches of snow on Sunday. Light to moderate snow is expected to start in the morning and stick around through the afternoon.
And get this: “Feels like” temperatures are going to drop below freezing. By Monday, wind chills could make it feel like it’s in the negative single digits.
If you’re in the advisory areas, it’s best to limit your time outside. Hypothermia is a real risk with these temperatures.
Also, be careful on the roads. They’re likely to be slippery, and visibility could be an issue with the snow and winds gusting at 15-25 mph.
