JACKSON TWP: So, there was this crash involving a Jackson Township police cruiser and a suspected shoplifter’s car. It happened on Thursday at the intersection of Everhard Road and Dressler Road NW, which is pretty busy, especially around Belden Village.

The Ohio Highway Patrol got the call just after 5 p.m. Apparently, the police were responding to a shoplifting report at the mall when the cruiser accidentally hit the back of another vehicle. That vehicle had at least one of the suspected shoplifters inside.

Luckily, both vehicles only had minor damage, and no one got hurt. The sergeant on the scene, Bryan Sponaugle, didn’t have much info on the shoplifters, like how many were involved or if anyone got caught. When reporters tried to get more details from the Jackson Township police, they just got an automated message.

Troopers wrapped things up and left the scene around 7 p.m. So, all in all, it was a bit of a hectic situation, but thankfully, everyone walked away okay.
