Bemidji: Starting this January, the Bemidji Senior Center is hosting Defensive Driving Refresher Courses. They’re also available on Zoom, which is super convenient.

These four-hour classes are perfect for drivers aged 55 and up. If you want to snag a discount on your car insurance or just brush up on your driving skills, this is for you.

You’ll pick up some handy defensive driving tips, learn about new laws, and get the scoop on vehicle tech and traffic safety.

There are a couple of class options. You can join on Wednesday, Jan. 29, or Feb. 12, at the Senior Center from 1 to 5 p.m. A certified instructor from the Precision Driving Center will lead the sessions, and it’s just $24.

To sign up, check out driverdiscountprogram.com or give them a call at 1-(888)234-1294 or (320) 308-1400.

If evenings work better for you, there’s a Zoom class on Monday, Feb. 17, from 5 to 9 p.m. Retired Minnesota State Patrol Trooper Mike Flatley will be teaching that one for only $15. You can register by calling (218) 750-3189 or emailing mnflats@hotmail.com.
