Donald Trump is gearing up for his second presidential inauguration in Washington DC
The ceremony kicks off around noon, and after that, he’ll give his inaugural speech. Then, there’s a parade heading to the White House. It’s a pretty big deal!
Later in the day, he’s planning to sign a bunch of executive orders. These will cover everything from immigration to trade and how the federal government runs. It looks like he’s aiming to roll back a lot of what Biden did and show he’s making quick moves on key issues.
Word is, he might sign over 200 executive actions right off the bat. Some of the first ones on his list include creating a new department focused on cutting costs and putting an end to diversity initiatives. He’s also looking to officially recognize only two genders, which is a big shift.
On the immigration front, he’s got 10 orders ready to go, including declaring a national emergency at the border and labeling drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. He’s also planning to put strict limits on asylum claims and pause refugee resettlement for at least four months.
And get this—he might even pardon some of the folks who stormed the Capitol back on January 6, 2021, after he disputed the election results.
At a rally on Sunday, Trump promised to end what he called “four long years of American decline” and kick off a new era of strength and pride for the country. It’s going to be an interesting start to his second term!
