Employer Roundtables Set to Address Workforce Issues in Southeast NM

Hobbs: Starting today, there are some important talks happening about workforce challenges in southeast New Mexico. State and local leaders are coming together for a series of roundtables.

New Mexico’s Department of Workforce Solutions Cabinet Secretary, Sarita Nair, is making her way to the area. She’ll be unveiling new names and logos for local workforce centers while also hosting discussions in Hobbs, Artesia, and Roswell.

Community members are welcome to join in on the events. They can also check out the newly named workforce centers and learn about the programs available for job seekers and employers.

Here’s what’s on the agenda:

In Hobbs, there’s a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday from 1 to 1:30 p.m. at 204 W. Park St., followed by a roundtable discussion from 2 to 4 p.m. at New Mexico Junior College.

Then in Artesia, they’ll have another ribbon-cutting on Thursday from 8 to 8:30 a.m. at 704 W Main St., with a roundtable discussion from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Artesia Public Schools Board Room.

Finally, in Roswell, the ribbon-cutting is set for Thursday from 3:15 to 3:45 p.m. at 67 University Blvd., and the roundtable will run from 1 to 3 p.m. at Eastern New Mexico University.
