The Grand Forks-East Grand Forks Chamber’s annual banquet will highlight Hunter Pinke’s inspiring story and celebrate local business achievements
Grand Forks: The Grand Forks-East Grand Forks Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for its annual dinner and meeting this Thursday. Hunter Pinke, a former UND football player, will be the keynote speaker. He’s got an incredible story to share.
This event is also a big deal for the chamber as it marks the handover of leadership. Mike McLean from JLG Architects will take over from Tony Hodny of H&S Electrical Services. They’re expecting around 495 folks to show up, which is pretty impressive!
Barry Wilfahrt, the Chamber’s president, mentioned that they’re on track for their second-highest attendance ever. It’s always nice to see the community come together like this. They’ll be reflecting on the past year and celebrating the good times.
Besides Hunter’s speech, both Hodny and McLean will also share their thoughts. Hunter, who hails from Wishek, North Dakota, is a chest-down paraplegic. He’s all about embracing life’s challenges and finding joy, which is something we could all use a bit more of.
Oh, and don’t forget about the Henry Havig Award! It’s one of the top honors in the Grand Forks business scene. Last year, it went to Dave Molmen from Altru Health System.
The meeting kicks off at 5:30 p.m. at the Alerus Center, with a social hour first. Dinner and the program will start at 6:30 p.m. It’s going to be a great evening!
