New Orleans: So, there was a really awful incident on Bourbon Street. Louisiana’s Governor Jeff Landry has declared a state of emergency after a terrorist attack that left at least 10 people dead and around 35 injured. It all happened early on New Year’s Day, which is just heartbreaking.

Landry mentioned that this emergency declaration is crucial. It’ll help get all the state resources needed to keep everyone safe. The FBI is looking into the attack, suspecting that the guy who drove into the crowd, Shamsud Din Jabbar, might not have acted alone. He was shot by police at the scene.

Jabbar, who was from Texas, reportedly had an ISIS flag in his rented truck. Can you believe that? It’s just so disturbing. Officials are already making changes, like postponing the Sugar Bowl game that was supposed to happen in the Superdome.

With Mardi Gras just around the corner and the Super Bowl coming up soon, the city is really on high alert. Landry made it clear that they won’t let this kind of violence ruin the spirit of Louisiana. He’s committed to making sure New Orleans stays safe and secure for everyone.

It’s a tough time for the city, but they’re rallying together. Let’s hope things get better soon.
