The suspension follows a raid where law enforcement seized firearms from the store
Louisville: So, the Louisville Metro Alcoholic Beverage Control just pulled the license of a liquor store in Newburg. This came right after a raid by the police. Brandon Bowden, a spokesperson for the ABC, shared the news on Wednesday.
They slapped an emergency suspension on Liquor Palace 5, which is on Preston Highway. It’s a pretty big deal since the cops found guns during the raid last Friday morning.
Now, the store can appeal this suspension, but they’ve got a tight window of three to ten days to do it. Even if they decide to fight it, the suspension stays in place while they sort things out.
Bowden emphasized that the ABC is all about keeping the community safe and making sure everyone follows the alcohol laws. They’re working closely with law enforcement as the investigation continues.
As for the raid, both the Louisville Metro Police and the ATF were involved. They didn’t spill the beans on why they were investigating, though. They just said they had multiple court-authorized warrants to carry out the operation.
