Columbus: So, it looks like Ohio’s Lt. Gov. Jon Husted is in the running for a U.S. Senate seat. Reports say he’s at the top of Governor Mike DeWine’s list to replace JD Vance, who’s stepping down soon.
Husted has deep roots in Ohio politics. He’s been around for a while, serving in various roles, including as the state’s secretary of state. It seems like he’s got the experience to back him up.
DeWine has been pretty quiet about his decision but has hinted that he wants someone who can win upcoming elections. Husted might just fit that bill, especially since he’s familiar with the political landscape.
