Unemployment claims in Ohio fell last week, signaling a positive trend in the job market as fewer people filed for benefits
Columbus: So, guess what? Unemployment claims in Ohio took a dip last week. The U.S. Department of Labor shared that the number of folks filing for benefits dropped.
They reported that new jobless claims fell to 8,579 for the week ending December 14. That’s down from 10,578 the week before. Pretty good news, right?
On a national level, the U.S. saw about 220,000 unemployment claims last week, adjusted for the season. It’s interesting to see how different states are faring.
Delaware had the biggest jump in claims, with a 32.3% increase. Meanwhile, Georgia really turned things around, seeing a 50.6% drop in new claims. Talk about a mixed bag!
