The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is looking into a shooting involving Ridgeland police that left both an officer and a suspect injured
Ridgeland: So, there was this officer-involved shooting in Ridgeland, Mississippi, on December 31. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is on the case, trying to figure out what went down.
From what I gathered, the Ridgeland police were keeping an eye on a vehicle. One of the officers tried to approach it, but the driver suddenly drove toward him. That’s when things got intense.
The officer fired his weapon, hitting the driver. After that, the driver took off, leading the police on a short chase on Interstate 220 before finally stopping. Thankfully, both the driver and the officer ended up with non-life-threatening injuries.
It’s important to note that this info is still preliminary and could change as the investigation unfolds. The MBI is gathering evidence and will share what they find with the Attorney General’s Office once they wrap things up.
