In a dramatic turn of events, a suspect was shot dead after stabbing a Shelby police officer during a warrant service at an Arby’s restaurant late Saturday night
SHELBY: So, here’s what went down. Late Saturday night, Shelby police were trying to serve a warrant at an Arby’s. They were looking for a guy named Tyler Jacobs. Things took a wild turn when Jacobs suddenly stabbed Officer Noah Kocher in the neck with a knife.
Kocher managed to back away and draw his weapon. He fired at Jacobs, hitting him. Officer Dominic Ewing, who was covering the back, rushed in to help both Kocher and Jacobs. They were both taken to the hospital, but sadly, Jacobs didn’t make it.
Kocher is stable, which is a relief. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification is now looking into the whole situation. The police department also expressed gratitude to all the emergency responders who jumped in to help. It’s a tough situation for everyone involved.
