Stanley: A person was shot and killed by police on Saturday afternoon. It all started with a 911 call that brought officers to Beau Drive around 12:22 p.m.
When they arrived, things escalated quickly. An officer fired their weapon, hitting someone. Despite medical help, the person sadly died at the scene.
Now, the officers involved are on administrative leave while the whole situation is being looked into. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is stepping in to handle the shooting investigation, and Gaston County Police will do their own internal review.
