Cape Canaveral: So, here’s the scoop! SpaceX is gearing up to launch a fresh batch of Starlink satellites on Monday. They’ll be using a Falcon 9 rocket, and the launch is set to kick off at 10:08 a.m. EST.

The cool part? Thirteen of these satellites will have direct-to-cell capabilities. That means they can connect directly to your phone! The launch window will be open for about three and a half hours, so there’s a bit of wiggle room.

If anything goes sideways, don’t worry. SpaceX has a backup launch time lined up for 1:45 p.m. EST. And if that doesn’t work out, they’ll try again the next day at 9:32 a.m. EST.

This launch will be a big deal for the first stage booster, marking its 15th mission. It’s already done eight other Starlink launches and has safely returned to Earth each time. After the launch, it’s expected to land on a drone ship called A Shortfall of Gravitas, which will be out in the Atlantic.

If you’re in the area, the Kennedy Space Center is opening up the Banana Creek viewing area, about 6.2 miles from the launch pad. You can catch the action via bus, but it’s first-come, first-served. They’ll also have commentary and video to keep you in the loop.

SpaceX is building this Starlink satellite constellation to provide internet service all over the globe, even in the most remote spots. So, whether you’re in the middle of the ocean or a quiet patch of land, you’ll be able to get online!
